On Saturday 14^th January 2012, seventeen volunteers made up of family and friends, descended on Derby County football stadium, in aid of a collection for the Help Harriet Trust.

We arrived at the football stadium just before 1pm and had a group photo, before we decided where everyone was going to be positioned around the outside of the football stadium.

As the fans from both Derby county and Coventry city started to arrive, we began our collection, some of us had done this before and knew what to expect, where as others were a little apprehensive.

Alot of people from Derby had read about Harriet in the Derby Evening Telegraph or were linked to Harriet`s Facebook group and regularly followed her progress, but there were also quite a few people that had not heard about Harriet.

As afternoon progressed we had more people making Donations from both Derby and Coventry, many of them were asking questions about what the funds were being used for and how Harriet was getting on in her new room.

At 3pm we stopped collecting and met up outside the stadium, some of us went into see the game, but others were simply too cold and decided to go home.

The following day we emptied out the pink collection buckets and were very pleased to say that we had raised a massive £974.20p on the day, there were also a couple of donations online through Harriet`s website that totalled a further £25.00.

We would like to say a very Big Thank you to Derby County football club, for allowing us to do a collection for Harriet and to all the fans from both Derby County and Coventry City, that made a Donation – Thank you very much.
